TV REPAIRS
At Digifix Ltd, we repair all types of TVs, including LCD and Plasma models. Flat screens come with challenges not seen in old CRT TVs—here’s what you need to know.
NO CHEAP FIX
Flat panel TVs rarely have £20–£30 repairs because manufacturers don’t supply individual spare parts. Instead, entire boards must be replaced, costing £80+ for branded TVs. Supermarket models often have no spare parts, as they’re sold on a 'replacement warranty' basis.
FRAGILE SCREENS
Flat TV screens are delicate—minor knocks (careful with that Wii remote!) can require a costly screen replacement, often exceeding the TV’s value. In such cases, I suggest you claim accidental damage on your home insurance.
HIDDEN COSTS
Beware of "free collection & delivery" offers—costs are recouped in the repair price. Fixed-price repairs (e.g., "Any TV for £99") often exclude costly fixes like screen replacements, with hidden inspection fees.
OUR POLICY
At Digifix, estimates are truly free—just bring your TV in. If you decline the repair, there’s no charge. If you don’t want to collect your faulty TV, we’ll recycle it, free of charge, via our sister company, ESR Recycling. Uncollected TVs are disposed of after three months unless instructed otherwise.
